Play Fit-Stay Fit! is a fun, dynamic, comprehensive and FREE 12-week wellness program that runs each spring and fall for children ages 5 to 18, after they have been treated for cancer. The program is now enrolling for the fall 2007 session which begins on September 18. The program provides an opportunity for pediatric cancer patients and their families to improve their quality of life by establishing or renewing fitness and wellness goals.
Goals are to improve physical abilities such as strength, mobility, endurance, coordination, and balance, as well as provide nutritional guidance and psychosocial support. The program is facilitated by experienced physical therapists, nutritionists, and counselors.
Sessions are held at 5:30 pm every Tuesday and Thursday evening at “Body in Balance,” a wellness facility located in Hauppauge. Supported by the Lance Armstrong Foundation and Stony Brook University, Play Fit–Stay Fit! is provided free of charge to qualified participants. DRAGON BOAT TEAM at The Wellness Community is open to new members. This has been an inspirational program in past years where women not only learn to paddle the Dragon Boats, but also form friendships that last long after the rowing stops. The team will row on the Charles River in Boston in the evening time.

FOCUS ON HEALING classes are now available on Cape Cod. This is a therapeutic exercise program for women who have had any kind of breast surgery, node dissection, radiation, chemotherapy, lymphedema, or who suffer with chronic fatigue.

WECANROW-BOSTON Start dates run throughout the year in order to accommodate new rowers. Practices are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 8:30 pm.
